We are so excited to see the design of playground equipment from Belaire that we are fundraising for. The students had a chance to vote on the elements they wanted as part of the equipment. The slide was the most important part to the kids.Monday, May 25, 2009

Chocolate-covered almonds will be sold from April 20 - May 11 as a fundraiser for our JK/SK Playground Equipment. There are 25 boxes in a handy carrying case and each box sells for $2.00 each. For every student that takes a case, their name will be put into a draw for a raffle basket. The student that sells the most will receive a special gift. We do hope you can help with this fundraiser as the profits are going to a great cause!
Playground Pals
After fundraising for a couple of years, our Home and School has been saving towards our JK/SK Playground equipment and we are close to our goal. Playground Pals has been one of these fundraisers. These cute bears for $2 each are almost gone, but will have made a lasting contribution to our new playground equipment!

Evelyn Harrison has been awarded the Let Them Be Kids Helping Hands Award! The program, Let Them Be Kids, was launched in Canada in 2006 and their mission is to assist communities to build play structures. The Evelyn Harrison Home and School Association has been fund raising for a few years now to build a playground for our Kindergarten students. Now with the Helping Hands Award (which turns every 60 cents we raise into a dollar) and a little more help through fund raising over the next few months we can reach our goal!
With help from the community we can complete the project this year. We are looking for anyone with connections to companies that maybe interested in helping us with the fill and/or excavation. We will be fund raising to cover these costs but any help would be greatly appreciated. The Home and School will be hold 3 bake sales and we are looking into other ideas to raise the remaining money needed to complete this project. Please support us in as many ways as possible so that we can keep these small children safe.
